Bands of thunderstorms from Isaac will continue to track northward across the area through today and tonight. Very healthy soakers and brief, isolated tornadoes will be a threat within these feederbands.?A Tornado Watch is in effect for our entire viewing area until 4pm.? Also,?a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for SE Mississippi and extreme?SW Alabama where the greatest potential of heavy rainfall exists.? With sustained SE winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 40mph over coastal counties, ?a Wind Advisory has been issued as well until 7pm.? Those winds will subside overnight into Friday.
Heavy surf and a high risk of rip currents will continue at area beaches through tonight.
Afternoon highs today will top in the mid 80s, upper 80s by Friday, with storms around through the end of the week.? Over the holiday weekend, the sunshine finally returns!? Only hit/miss showers are possible for Saturday and Sunday with highs reaching the low 90s.
